Les Roches Gruyère University of Applied Science (LRG)

LRG University of Applied Sciences is the first private university to deliver hospitality management programmes, authorised by the Swiss Federal Authorities. LRG-UAS delivers the quality of Swiss education in an international atmosphere using the academic resources and facilities of two renowned universities: Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches International School of Hotel Management.

LRG-UAS offers a Bachelor of Science degree with two specializations delivered in two unique locations:
• International Hospitality Management-Bulle Campus
• Food, Beverage and Operations Management-Bluche Campus

The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) programme for postgraduate students is offered on the Bulle campus.

*GIHE and Les Roches, our sister schools, are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in the USA. They are not part of the federally authorised UAS.

The Academic Model of LRG University of Applied Science

The action based learning curriculum of LRG-UAS builds student knowledge through a blend of the following educational tools:

  • hands on experience
  • problem based learning approaches
  • case studies.
  • Integrating theory into practice

Transforming young adults into effective professionals for complex service environments also requires mentoring outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to develop soft skills, an attention to detail in their work approaches, and self management to embody the Swiss work ethos.

International Student Body

The international environment of the LRG University of Applied Sciences’ two campuses introduces students to the importance of managing cultural diversity. Through group projects and campus events, students develop strategies to understand other people’s perspectives. The atmosphere of each campus gives students an excellent start to their international careers where consideration of multi-cultural clients and colleagues will be central to their working lives.
