Pré Fleuri International Alpine School

History

""1948

The Children’s Home, Pre Fleuri was founded by William and Lucienne Bonzon. In 1958 Madeleine, their daughter joined her parents. This was a period of extension for the school. The chalet was extended to accommodate the ever increasing number of young students coming from all over the world.

""1969

Madeleine and her husband Vladimir SÈkaly took over the running of the school. Students continued to arrive from all the continents to spend their holidays at Pré Fleuri. One of them was a pretty young French girl called Sylvie Launay.

1991

""Madeleine set about following her true vocation in life. Thanks to the “Èvolutive” method of ski instruction which was introduced by Jacques, Pré Fleuri was fast becoming renowned as a school for sporting excellence. Sylvie Launay became the school’s Assistant Director. A successful new academic section, offering bilingual instruction, was opened.

""1996

Madeleine handed the management of the school over to Sylvie Launay. She is working hard to maintain the school’s educational ethos, where both young and old alike are respected. In 1998 Pré Fleuri celebrated his 50th anniversary.

Three generations, but still the same passion for perfection and warmth.

Situated in an exceptionally sunny position at the heart of the Swiss Alps, Pré Fleuri faces a wonderful mountain panorama.

At an altitude of 1300 metres in the resort of Villars, Pré Fleuri occupies 2 hectares and is surrounded by meadows and forests, in which there are still wild squirrels, dear, foxes and hares.

At a certain distance from the centre of Villars, Pré Fleuri offers a maximum of liberty, yet plenty of freedom and peace, to your children.

The idyllic beauty of this place allows your children to flourish in privileged surroundings …

A school geared to children – from 4 to 12 years of age

Our aim is to offer an education which conforms to official school programmes, but is adapted to the rhythm of your child.

Our teachers, who are all experienced, are sensitive to the needs of your child and offer individual care.

Several programmes are offered:

– the infant school bilingual for French and English

– the French section which gives the official report at the end of the year; by request the Swiss or Belgiam programme can be followed

– the English section follows the British system

– the foreign language section with intensive language courses in French or English

– complementary courses of chosen languages, music, dance …

The sports and cultural activities, the educational games and handicrafts help your children to prepare themselves in a sound fashion for the outside world and the combination of education and guidance gives them a precious balance. From an early age your children become bilingual and grow up in an international world. Our approach offers them a sound and full foundation; they go on confidently to their secondary education.

During the whole of their school life, your children are offered help and advice …
